I'm Kate, I'm a registered nutritionist, specialising in autoimmune conditions.

Do you have an autoimmune condition and want to learn how to take care of your health naturally?

I offer holistic, evidence-based care for people with autoimmune conditions.

“I chose to work with Kate because I was fed up of struggling with several autoimmune issues and worried that they were getting out of control. I wanted to feel good again.

I have discovered that my body’s needs may vary from the ‘average’ person and how to support those in a holistic way.

My physical health has really improved. I still have some way to go but I feel less inflamed, exhausted and I am much stronger. More notably, my mood has completely changed. I feel happy, relaxed, positive and supported. I used to feel afraid, alone and ashamed of my differences. I am so grateful not to feel like that anymore.

Kate’s approach is very informative, supportive and holistic. I have recommended Kate to absolutely everyone. I have told them that this has changed my life. But they can already see it for themselves.”

“I chose to work with you because you mentioned avoiding a scattergun approach and specialised in auto-immune conditions and their links to diet.

My life has changed completely. I learned about histamine content in food, looking at the big picture not individual components of food and learned to allow time and make adjustments where needed.

You gave me your full attention and always re-assured me when I got very upset or nervous about any specific situation I was in. I can commend your patience.

If you are facing a medical problem that may be related to your nutrition, Kate is the person to speak to. Her knowledge is up to date and vast. She is sympathetic and listens, you will feel that you are receiving individual care, not being lead down a standardised protocol. She will help you sort through any misinformation you might have come across on the internet.”

Medical research shows that making evidence-based, personalised diet and lifestyle changes can significantly improve your health if you have an autoimmune condition.

Read more about what autoimmunity is and how certain diet and lifestyle changes can help.

Autoimmune conditions are usually the result of a particular genetic make-up combined with certain environmental triggers.

These triggers can be many things, such as food intolerances, dysfunctional blood glucose control due to diet and stress, dysbiosis of the gut microbiome, an unresolved infection or virus, an environmental toxin, or problems with detoxification.

As a registered nutritionist, through taking a detailed case history and using some of the best functional comprehensive testing, I can help you piece together the triggers that may be contributing to your condition and show you what you can do about it.

“I decided to work with Kate because I didn’t feel that I was getting enough attention and information form my doctors regarding my medical condition.

I have a much better understanding of my whole body and am much more aware of what I eat.

Looking back I feel so much better in myself and my energy levels have really improved.

Kate has a very knowledgeable holistic approach to her work and shows empathy to her clients.

Kate is practical and professional and you get results.

About me

I was in my early 20’s when I was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition. It came as a real shock to me. I was immediately overwhelmed with all sorts of information from various sources. Yet none of it was particularly helpful, it just made me anxious.

What really confused me was that all the discussion was about treating, or suppressing, symptoms. No one appeared interested in WHY this was happening.

But all I could think was that I must be doing something that wasn’t right for my particular body.

I needed someone to help me with this.

Luckily my work health insurance allowed me to see a GP privately, who had a deep interest in exploring a more natural approach that was curious about the underlying causes. She referred me to a nutritionist and they worked together to support me.

The feeling of having a team behind me, who were experts in their fields and who had the time and energy to focus on me and really cared about me, was so reassuring.

I was able to come off all medication within 12 months and have been medication free ever since.

But this was just the start of the journey and I have spent the time since gradually adding to my knowledge of autoimmunity, so I could continue to take care of myself.

I ended up leaving my corporate job, spending four years retraining in nutrition and lifestyle medicine. My passion for understanding the underlying connections between what we eat, our lifestyles and our health continues to drive me every day.

I love being able to offer clients the opportunity to receive this level of care and support, just as I received myself all those years ago.

When I am able to show clients how their symptoms connect up with other issues they have experienced, and how they can take action to promote better function of their physiology, I see their faces light up, because they realise they can do something about it.
